The policy environment with regards Forestry in Scotland is favourable; £252M has been allocated through the Scottish Rural Development Plan (SRDP) for the period 2014-2020 in order to create and manage woodlands under the Forestry Grant Scheme (FGS). This is in recognition of forestry’s capacity to enhance the economic, environmental, and social prosperity of Scotland heading into the future.
